Scientists warn that the insect population has been collapsing in recent years and that 40 percent of insect species are dying out. Bees, butterflies, moths, beetles, dragonflies, and damselflies are some of the insects that are most endangered.

Denver-based artist, Adrienne DeLoe, a nature lover, is using her talent to bring awareness to this issue. DeLoe’s art is inspired by these beautiful animals, in which she gives them “the defense mechanisms they so desperately need to survive the modern world”.

“It is my intention to raise awareness about the population decline that insects are currently undergoing. They are so important to our ecosystems and their decline is something that puts all of us at risk,” Adrienne DeLoe said to Bored Panda.

DeLoe has more than seven thousand followers on Instagram who admire her work and buy her creations. She’s trying to inspire them to take care of nature and all the creatures around us.
