]]>“At 3 months old they were the size of 6 week old kittens, they were still nursing from their mom and not eating hard food,” their human mom shared on Instagram. “How did we end up with them? I happened to be working in the shelter at the time in the adoption and intake department. It was a walk-in surrender, we usually required an appointment but I wasn’t busy at the moment.”
The moment she saw the two felines she immediately knew they had dwarfism. However, they became worried about Elfie and Gimli’s future.
“Along with their dwarfism and the joint issues that come along with that, Elfie suffers from a seizure disorder and both she and Gimli have hypothyroidism,” she added. “Elfie is also not like a regular cat, she can’t jump or climb and sometimes gets herself into sticky situations. She is also a bit slow (physically and mentally) and requires a lot of kitty proofing so that she’s safe.”
