A few weeks ago I mentioned that I didn't have an #elephant image……2 weeks in #botswana and that was corrected, I now have thousands, but more importantly I got to see up close and personal the conflict the growing population of Elephants in Botswana is creating with the local farmers in part the result of poaching in neighbouring African countries compared to the gun free poaching free haven of Botswana. It was suggested by an experienced guide that in 25 years the Botswana population has grown from around 75,000 to in excess of 200,000 and is fast becoming unsustainable with an added concern that if not resolved the poachers will end up in Botswana. Clearly there is much work to do to ensure these graceful Giants keep their tusks and are free to live across Africa in safety #safari #portrait #africa #animals #WildlifePhotography #elephant #wildlife #poaching #conservation #nature .
