]]> Finland is a country in Northern Europe that many think of as cold and dark. One photographer, Ossi Saarinen, is on a mission to introduce people from all around the world to the surprisingly enchanting side of Finland.

Ossi photographs animals in Finnish forests, capturing the unique atmosphere of the peaceful wilderness that covers nearly three-quarters of the country.

He’s very young, but passionate about animal photography and he already has more than 180 thousand people following him on Instagram.

Last summer was amazing time for photographing foxes. Thousands of different kind of photos and unforgettable moments with the animals. But it also took lot of time. Half of the process was finding them. After that I spent most of my early mornings and late evenings photographing them. I often woke up at 2am and went back to sleep after sunrise. For weeks I slept only 3-4 hours per day in average. Sometimes I got many good shots in a day but there was also many days when I didn't get anything. What kept me going was coffee and the great support from all of you guys. Thank you once again 🙏 Can't wait for the next summer. Rolling on the snow laughing 🤣 Important note: Another baby seal here was taken to a zoo for some time because there was so many people around it. It's impossible to say if that caused any harm to the seal or was it just enjoying the attention. But anyway whenever you find a wild animal don't go too close – it's better to use longer lense and take the photos from safe distance. Atleast always leave the animal a safe and clear way back to where it came from so it can leave if it feels so. I admit that I also went pretty close to this seal at first as it didn't seem to care about people at all. Later when more people gathered around I backed up and changed to a longer lense. I hope it didn't cause any stress to the animal. It really depends on the species how close you can go. It's always a good idea to find out more about the species and their behavior before going too close. Always put the animal on the first place so we can enjoy our fluffy friends in the future as well. Feel free to share the message.
