(@fuzzyfawnwildlife)Scherer is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator based in Buffalo, New York, and she’s been rescuing animals for over a decade. After she found a fawn in need of help in 2013, she called countless numbers asking for assistance only to be put on hold, so she decided to take matters into her own hands.
She got her rehabilitation license, converted her backyard into a makeshift care center, and later moved to a rural area with more land where she can take better care of rescue animals. She’s taken care of squirrels, rabbits, and birds over the years, but she mostly specializes in rescuing, rehabilitating, and then releasing white-tailed deer.
“Each year, Fuzzy Fawn takes in around one hundred deer and answers about 400 calls about wildlife. They are assessed for injuries, treated, and then released… Before being released, she takes care to prevent any imprinting and to preserve that natural fear of humans,” reads Fuzzy Fawn Wildlife Rescue’s official website.

]]>Morgan and Luke were having the wedding of their dreams on the Felt Estate, in Saugatuck, Michigan, when they went to take their “golden hour portraits” with photographer Laurenda Marie Bennet.
They walked to a nearby field to take the pictures when all of a sudden they saw a wild deer. The animal looked quite friendly and very soon it approached the couple to check out the thing that Morgan was holding in her hands.
“[He] started reaching his neck over and grabbing flowers from her bouquet and just chewing away. Then he steps over the fence so he’s standing in front of them, and he’s just hanging out eating her bouquet”, the photographer described this unusual event in an interview with The Dodo.
10 days ago I posted this series of photos as a sneak peek to the newlyweds on my Facebook page. In those 10 days we experienced a whirlwind of media hype that none of us could have ever anticipated. The initial post was shared 114K times and viewed by 14.5 million people in these 10 days. We were featured on air on the Today show and in articles on major news outlets including Fox News, Good Morning America, Bored Panda, Huffington Post, Insider, Daily Mail, Buzz Feed, and Inside Edition to name a few. We’ve been all over local stations, on the front page of numerous papers, and featured internationally on various websites in Germany and Slovakia. Still trying to process all of this.

The photos they ended up taking were so much better than the couple ever thought they’d be.
“We were all kind of giggling and looking at each other like, ‘What’s going on? What should we do?’” Bennett said. “Morgan’s expressions were priceless — they just kind of made the photos.”
