“I became completely enamored with the diversity and wonder of the world of entomology… Many of my stunning specimens would ordinarily live for just a few weeks, even days, so it is very special to me to be able to preserve their beauty in a meaningful and lasting way,” she explains on her official website.
Most of the specimens used in her art are sustainably sourced from reputable insect farms. She mostly focuses on preserving moths and butterflies and displaying them in beautiful vintage frames. There are exceptions to this rule, and some of her frames also showcase spider webs, cicadas, beetles, and other insects.
