]]>“In my aerial photography I focus on landscapes that have been heavily transformed by human intervention,” he writes on his website. “I am trying to sensitize the viewer for those subjects by taking a look on the extraordinary forces impacting our environment.”
In one such series, Hegen captured salt ponds throughout Europe. “Sea salt is a product that is heavily included in our everyday’s life but we hardly know where it comes from and how it’s been produced,” he explains. “Seawater is fed into evaporation ponds. Energy from the sun and wind concentrates the water to help encourage salt growth.”
The colored water varies from lighter shades of green to vibrant red. The bright color indicates the salinity of the ponds. Micro-organisms change their hues as the salinity of the pond increases.

]]>When you scroll through his Instagram, you will fall in love with the Transylvania’s landscape. Robviuc was inspired by a quote from English travel writer Patrick Leigh Fermor: “Transylvania had been a familiar name as long as I could remember. It was the very essence and symbol of remote, leafy, half-mythical strangeness; and, on the spot, it seemed remoter still and more fraught with charms.”
Robciuc’s hard work earned him the Sony World Photography Awards 2019- National Award and the title of “Tourism Ambassador,” which he received for promoting his country of Romania.

]]>“Some of my favorite places are Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Botswana, and Richmond Park which is just a few miles from my home in London,” Lloyd writes on his website. “I prefer a fine art style, choosing to appeal to buyers of framed photography. Although I’ve a preference towards black and white, color features strongly too.”
Lloyd has won many photography awards including Wildlife Photographer of the Year in 2011 and 2014 and Outdoor Photographer of the Year in 2016.
