Ossi photographs animals in Finnish forests, capturing the unique atmosphere of the peaceful wilderness that covers nearly three-quarters of the country.

He’s very young, but passionate about animal photography and he already has more than 180 thousand people following him on Instagram.

Last summer was amazing time for photographing foxes. Thousands of different kind of photos and unforgettable moments with the animals. But it also took lot of time. Half of the process was finding them. After that I spent most of my early mornings and late evenings photographing them. I often woke up at 2am and went back to sleep after sunrise. For weeks I slept only 3-4 hours per day in average. Sometimes I got many good shots in a day but there was also many days when I didn't get anything. What kept me going was coffee and the great support from all of you guys. Thank you once again 🙏 Can't wait for the next summer. ]]> 23-year-old photographer Harry Read was thrilled to capture a photo of a happy puffin bird and share it with his followers on social media. He explains that the photo quickly went viral and has been shared with more than 16 million people since he published it. The adorable portrait is below.

“After staying for 2 weeks on an island off the coast of Wales in the Atlantic Ocean, I was lucky enough to get an intimate look into the habits of the characterful Atlantic Puffin,” Read teold Bored Panda.

“After a week of visiting the same area of the island each night, I realized that if I laid still for long enough, the Puffins would display a unique behavior. Being naturally curious and characterful little seabirds, if the Puffins wandered close enough, they would catch a glimpse of their own reflection in my wide angle lens! I allowed the wild Puffin to spot itself in the lens glass before it moved closer and closer to investigate. When only an inch away from the lens, the bold little bird tried to peck its own reflection!”

]]> Photos of a mother duck with an amazing brood of 76 ducklings were taken by a Minnesota-based wildlife photographer, Brent Cizek. Cizek was on his way home as a summer storm was about to begin when he noticed the unusual crowd.

“I happened to find this group of mergansers purely by luck, but I was absolutely amazed by what I saw,” Cizek says. “At the time I didn’t know anything about the species, so I wasn’t sure if what I witnessed was a common occurrence or something out of the ordinary. All I knew was that I had never seen anything like that before.”

As female ducks can usually incubate no more than 20 eggs, it’s likely that many of these little folks have lost their mothers before they were adopted by Momma Merganser, as Cizek nicknamed their leader.

Cizek has posted several images of this big family on Instagram so far, but he plans to keep following them and to share their lives with us.

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I didn't have an #elephant image……2 weeks in #botswana and that was corrected, I now have thousands, but more importantly I got to see up close and personal the conflict the growing population of Elephants in Botswana is creating with the local farmers in part the result of poaching in neighbouring African countries compared to the gun free poaching free haven of Botswana. It was suggested by an experienced guide that in 25 years the Botswana population has grown from around 75,000 to in excess of 200,000 and is fast becoming unsustainable with an added concern that if not resolved the poachers will end up in Botswana. ]]> Did you know that it’s possible to create art with ants? That’s what Iantha Naicker does, and her works are simply gorgeous.

What’s the secret to the insects doing exactly what she wants? “Leaving tiny amounts of sugar on a piece of paper to lure them into my drawings,” she reveals. “It gets tricky because they move around quickly and I have to record as fast as I can.”

]]> Photos of a mother duck with an amazing brood of 76 ducklings were taken by a Minnesota-based wildlife photographer, Brent Cizek. Cizek was on his way home as a summer storm was about to begin when he noticed the unusual crowd.

“I happened to find this group of mergansers purely by luck, but I was absolutely amazed by what I saw,” Cizek says. “At the time I didn’t know anything about the species, so I wasn’t sure if what I witnessed was a common occurrence or something out of the ordinary. All I knew was that I had never seen anything like that before.”

As female ducks can usually incubate no more than 20 eggs, it’s likely that many of these little folks have lost their mothers before they were adopted by Momma Merganser, as Cizek nicknamed their leader.

Cizek has posted several images of this big family on Instagram so far, but he plans to keep following them and to share their lives with us.

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I didn't have an #elephant image……2 weeks in #botswana and that was corrected, I now have thousands, but more importantly I got to see up close and personal the conflict the growing population of Elephants in Botswana is creating with the local farmers in part the result of poaching in neighbouring African countries compared to the gun free poaching free haven of Botswana. It was suggested by an experienced guide that in 25 years the Botswana population has grown from around 75,000 to in excess of 200,000 and is fast becoming unsustainable with an added concern that if not resolved the poachers will end up in Botswana.
