We are all guilty of slipping our cats a bite from our plate. However, you should be careful what you give to your feline, as there are some foods that they shouldn’t be eating. Check them out below.

Chocolate

You probably already know that eating chocolate can be really bad for dogs. However, it is the same case with cats. The chocolate is bad for them because it contains theobromine, a substance harmless for humans but toxic for felines as their metabolism can’t break it down.

Dairy Products

This one might come as a surprise to some, but cats shouldn’t be eating dairy products. Most felines are lactose intolerant, and eating dairy products will upset their stomach.

Citrus Fruit

Make sure to keep lemons, oranges, and other citrus fruits away from your cat. This is because citrus fruit contains essential oil extracts and citric acid, which are known to cause poisoning or irritation to the cat’s nervous system.

Raw Meat and Eggs

Cats should stay away from raw meat and eggs for all sorts of reasons. The main one is that raw meat and eggs can be contaminated with bacteria while also containing enzymes that cats can’t break down.

Grapes and Raisins

It is unclear why grapes and raisins are bad for cats and dogs, but there have been cases in which their consumption led to kidney failure.
