Just last month, Robert got the news any pet owner whose lost their beloved friend dreams of receiving, his cat Chebon, which he lost 7-years prior, had been found and was very much alive.

Chebon first went missing after Robert was supposed to move from California to Ohio, but when his cat got lost he decided to stay and search for him. Soon a year had passed and Chebon was nowhere to be found and that’s when Robert decided to follow through with his move.

“I remember at one point I was praying and I said, ‘God, I’ll do anything, just bring my Chebon back,’” Robert said in a video on Ventura County Animal Services’ Facebook page.

So how exactly was Robert reunited with his cat?

A woman saw a cat on the side of the road that didn’t look healthy and she decided to bring him into the vet. The cat had been living on the streets for a while and the vet scanned him for a microchip and that’s when Robert’s name appeared. The vet also found out that the cat was in fact 19-years-old! As soon as Robert received the amazing news, he booked a flight to Los Angeles to see his cat.

When Chebron saw Robert it was as if time had stood still over the 7-years, “At one point, [Chebon] hugged him, and Robert just started bawling,” Friedman, marketing manager for Ventura County Animal Services told The Dodo, “You don’t see that in cats too much … It was just so touching.”

The reunion is one you have to see with your very own eyes and luckily the whole thing was caught on video. Be sure to check it out below.
