Artist Illustrates the Imagined Creations of Animals

Ricardo Solis is a Guadalajara-born Mexican artist and father of four who loves to draw animals. Since his early ages, he was attracted to art and nature and when he grew up, he decided to combine these two passions. According to the artist’s personal website, he tries to “express in his work the beauty and perfection of both, along with his belief in the undeniable existence of a Creator.”

Solis is best known for his project where he imagined how some animals were created; little men making the animals by using ribbons to create a zebra’s stripes, purring orange dye to color a lion or even put together the scales to make a pangolin.

The artist has participated in several exhibitions worldwide and his work has been featured on NPR, Inspiration Grid, Behance, and many other media. He also loves sharing his work on his Instagram account called ricardosolisart.
