Artist Makes Soft Animal Sculptures From Faux Fur Clothing

Textile artist Rachel Austin, based in Gloucestershire, creates life-like animals from unwanted and damaged faux fur clothing.

“I enjoy combining my passion for nature and crafting to create these soft sculptures,” Austin wrote on Bored Panda. “On some pieces, I add finishing touches using fabric paints, and/or pens. But I love it when the pattern on the clothing already pretty much matches whatever animal it is I’m trying to make! I tend to stuff any leftover over fabric into the bodies, and sometimes it’s possible to make two totally different animal sculptures from just one coat.”

Austin, also known as thewishingshed on social media turns a hat into a cat, a coat into a goat, and a shrug into pug.
