The post 5 Reasons Why British Shorthair Cats Make Great Pets appeared first on Our Funny Little Site.
]]>If you’re looking for a cat that will stay small for quite some time, British shorthairs are a great choice. They’re slow to mature and usually reach their full size and weight between the ages of three and five.
The British shorthair cats are known for their laid-back, gentle nature. They have a calm and easygoing demeanor, and you’ll love them if you’re looking for a low-energy breed that’s very adaptable and gets on well with other pets.
British shorthairs are pretty low-maintenance when compared to other cat breeds and require minimal grooming.
It’s typical for British shorthairs to live long and healthy lives, spanning all the way to 20 years, because they don’t face many breed-related health risks.
At the end of the day, British shorthairs are worth adopting because they’re simply adorable. The “British Blue” with a solid grey-blue coat is the most popular variation of this breed, but they can also be colorpoint and tabby.

]]>Meniconi is an Italian artist who studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and went through many different stages on her artistic journey. Her drawings are now mostly inspired by the animal world, and she decided to use wildlife as her main source of inspiration due to her fascination with their strong and diverse nature.
“Their eyes watch us watchfully, scrutinizing us intimately: judges and silent witnesses. Looking at us, they invite us to search within ourselves and embark on the inner journey we need… They can lead us, if we want to or if we are sensitive enough, into our ‘primordial cave’, from which infinite things unknown to us can spring,” she writes on her official website.
We’ve seen Meniconi encapsulate the beauty of many different animal species through her illustrations, but she definitely has a soft spot for birds. Her drawings perfectly capture all the tiny details that make each bird species unique, putting their vibrant nature front and center.

]]>A local resident Dawn F. spotted the cat circling the ice chunk, located about 30 to 40 feet from shore in Westford, Massachusetts, and immediately called animal control. Before they were able to arrive, the ice underneath the cat started to crack, but two good samaritans came to her rescue.
Nate P. and Kris S. were working at a nearby home when they noticed a cat engulfed in cold lake water and immediately hopped into a rowboat, hopeful they could reach her in time. They were able to rescue Tiki before she succumbed to the frigid cold, and paddled to the shore as fast as they could.
“The cat was taken indoors, toweled off, and wrapped up in blankets. Upon our arrival, this neutered male was shivering, lethargic, and in shock. We immediately transported the cat for veterinary care where his temperature was so low that it didn’t even register on the thermometer,” reads the statement by Westford Animal Control.
They started looking for the cat’s owners, and a resident from Birch Rd identified Tiki as their 20-year-old blind cat. They were happily reunited after Tiki received veterinary care and managed to make a full recovery.

]]>Ralphie first went viral after the New York-based nonprofit Niagara County SPCA posted a brutally honest Facebook ad trying to adopt him. They described him as a “fire-breathing demon” and “a terror in a somewhat small package”, but that didn’t stop Jason Lin from giving him the loving home that he deserves.
Lin is an experienced dog trainer from Knoxville, Tennessee, and he didn’t see Ralphie as a “demon”, but as a pet deserving of love, waiting to be tamed.
“He’s much more trusting of people now. He’ll give people the benefit of the doubt. Deep down, he’s always been a social dog. He wants to interact with people, he wants to interact with dogs, he wants to be friends with everybody, he just kinda didn’t know how to,” Lin told the Knoxville News Sentinel.
Ralphie’s progress was a joy to watch and he became quite a star on social media. In addition to starring in “Real Talk with Ralphie” videos, he also went viral thanks to his skateboarding videos, after Lin taught him how to use a skateboard.

Quinn enjoys exploring a wide range of different subjects through her heart, but nature remains her favorite, and there’s a reason why fish, whales, and other marine animals often take center stage in her work.
“I was influenced at an early age by my dad, who worked at our local Marineland when he first arrived in New Zealand from Canada. He had lots of books and photos and I used to love looking through them with him,” Quinn explained on her official website.
Quinn’s father made her fall in love with the ocean, but her passion for snorkeling made this passion even deeper and more intense. She went to Rarotonga with her husband on their honeymoon and enjoyed discovering the amazing coral reef with all the wonderful fish during their snorkeling adventures.

One dog owner recently figured out that their Golden Retriever deserves a chance to try wakeboarding, so he took him with him on a ride. In a viral video shared on TikTok, the dog owner can be seen holding the puppy in one hand while successfully navigating the waves.
The dog needed some time to get loose but seemed quite curious about the whole thing and, at one point, even tried to catch one of the waves passing beside it.
The video ended up getting close to four million views since being shared a week ago. Internet users labeled it as “cute” while also praising the idea in the comments section.
“I’m screaming this is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen,” one TikTok user wrote.
“We will be seeing this pup in 12 months surfing – what a kick – love it,” another added.
