]]>Warnick’s love for birds has followed her since she was a little girl, and she spent countless hours drawing birds on poster boards and on pages of her school reports in elementary school. She later graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho with a BA in integrated studio art and made natural history the forefront of her art.
She explored many different subjects through her paintings over the years, but her love for birds never faded away.
“Over the years, birds have taken me on many happy and aesthetically beautiful adventures… I hope my artwork will introduce many others to the significance and beauty of birds so that birds can benefit the lives of people, and in turn, people can benefit the lives of birds,” she writes on her official website.
Warnick enjoys meticulously studying different bird species before capturing them on canvas, and her paintings are a homage to the endless diversity of their world.

]]>Utrera owned a variety of exotic animals throughout his childhood, and his love for reptiles is deeply rooted in the obsession he had with dinosaurs as a kid.
“Ever since I was a kid, I’ve had a fascination with animals. Growing up, I kept everything from bearded dragons to sugar gliders but it wasn’t until I got my first Crested Gecko in 2007 that my reptile addiction took off. Every day I would go through pictures of crested geckos online and the newfound obsession never seemed to dwindle,” he writes on his official website.
After acquiring the nicest geckos from various breeders, Utrera eventually decided he wanted to become a breeder himself. He eventually turned his favorite hobby into a business and Tiki’s Geckos was born out of his love for geckos and other lizards. He’s now using the power of social media to put his business on the map, in addition to encouraging people to learn how unique and diverse they can be.

]]>Bowie was adopted by Kevin Ferman when he was just five months old, when he brought him to Colorado from Albuquerque. Staying home alone was quite a struggle for Bowie, who was dealing with a pretty bad separation anxiety whenever his owner had to go outside for work.
Ferman came up with a brilliant idea to take him along for one of his Uber rides, in an attempt to socialize him and get him around people. It didn’t take long for Bowie to free up around other passengers, and he quickly became one of Colorado’s most recognizable pups.
Bowie rose to prominence after appearing in the viral YouTube clip “Bowie’s Uber Vlog”, and this was just one of his many Uber adventures. Ferman is constantly sharing hilarious clips with Bowie in the passenger seat and he’s the best co-pilot anyone could ask for. People always light up when they see him in an Uber and he has a special talent for putting a smile on everyone’s face.

]]>Brooks loved painting for as long as she can remember, but committing to it full-time seemed like an inconvenient career choice. She worked at galleries and classrooms, surrounded by art without actually making it until she started painting landscapes on leaves in 2018.
Three years later, Brooks decided to quit her job and started painting leaves full-time, setting the scene for what grew into her signature 100 Painted Leaves Collection.
“In search of structure, I committed to painting a leaf each day for 100 days. The love these little paintings were met with was overwhelming and solidified my new journey as an artist. I think that collection will always be precious to me. When I look at those paintings, I see the path I took back to myself,” she explains on her official website.
Painting on leaves is a time-consuming process that starts with gathering leaves in the woods near her home in North Carolina. It takes about a month for leaves to press and dry, and Brooks uses acrylic gesso to prep them before painting them, as carefully as possible to avoid tearing the leaves.

]]>Buyanova was born and raised in Russia and spent most of her life living in Saint Petersburg, before eventually moving to Berlin, Germany. She enjoyed expressing herself creatively from a young age, and her love for drawing and working with her hands helped her discover the world of pottery.
She’s been making her own ceramics since 2018, and she mastered many different techniques during that time. All of her products are made entirely by hand, and we’ve seen her make all sorts of different stoneware and porcelain pieces, ranging from hand-painted dishware and hand-crafted vases to figurines inspired by the animal world.
Buyanova currently mostly specializes in animalistic ceramic works, and most of her figurines are inspired by the marine world. Her sculptures will take you to the bottom of the ocean and they usually take the shape of whales, but she also enjoys paying homage to other marine animals, including sharks, orcas, manta rays, cuttlefish, and many more.

“I then grew up taking care of praying mantises, beetles, butterflies, and moths, along with other creatures like snails and spiders. Saving the insects I found and cared for, I learned how to preserve them once they passed. My collection grew and soon became the subject of my art,” she explains on her official website.
One of the best things about Parish’s paintings is her incredible attention to detail. She has an impressive personal collection of insects and has a habit of placing them next to the canvas to use as a reference. By doing so, she’s able to capture insects as accurately as possible, and most of them are painted in scale.

]]>Things are looking up for the northern leopard frogs in Washington, and the Oregon Zoo played an important role in their conservation efforts. Over 100 endangered frogs spent the spring and summer growing in a protected area at the zoo, but they were eventually released into the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge earlier this month.
Jennifer Osburn Eliot had overseen the zoo’s frog-rearing efforts since they were brought to the zoo as eggs last spring by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife until they were released into the wild.
“They come to us as eggs, then they grow into tadpoles and develop into frogs. We care for them at the zoo until they’re big enough to have a better chance of surviving in the wild. Every frog we release makes a difference for this vulnerable species,” she said in a press release.
Despite living in abundance in other parts of the United States, the northern leopard frogs have been listed as endangered in Washington since 1999. The decline of their population was caused by several factors, including changes in water quality, a loss of wetland habitat, and predation by invasive species.

]]>Dubois is a successful content creator, interior designer, and business owner with around 400,000 followers under her belt on both Instagram and TikTok. Her social media posts are one colorful delight and they wouldn’t be the same without her fashionista cat Pony.
C H A M P A G N E Dubois was a successful commercial photographer, but she had to put her career on hold once the pandemic hit. Stick in her small apartment with her adorable kitty, she started looking for other ways to channel her creativity, from redecorating the space around her to taking portraits of Pony.
“Alone in my apartment with just my cat, Pony, and the blank walls around me, I started coloring my small world with paint. I created colorful murals and started taking self-portraits with Pony as a way to exercise my creativity while we all were stuck inside,” she told Voyage LA.
Those days are long behind them, and Dubois is running a successful home décor brand Me Make Pretty, but she still enjoys dressing up alongside Pony and sharing their flawless matching outfits online.
