]]>Instagram users were recently amazed by the video of rescue rats Kuzko and Kronk driving a mini car by themselves.
It turns out that Kuzko and Kronk received a mini car from their owner’s dad. The project was inspired by research from the University of Richmond, which showed that rats can learn how to drive tiny cars and that the experience is actually relaxing for them.
Kuzko and Kronk’s features a simple setup with three pedals that cause it to go forward, turn left, and turn right. During a period of a couple of months, rats received training through a reward system and quickly picked up the basics.
“After only a couple months of 5-10 minute lessons each day, we’ve been blown away by how skilled Kuzko and Kronk have become at accurately turning and accelerating their cars!” the owner explained in a caption of the video that received more than one million likes.
Kuzko and Kronk’s owner later shared more of their driving adventures while noting that each rat receives 10 minutes of time at the wheel to “maximize focus.”

]]>One dog owner recently shared a video on Instagram that shows their cocker spaniel named Evie overcoming a gate that should prevent her from going up the stairs. The adorable dog simply takes advantage of its slim and nimble body through a small gap between the gate and the wall. Easy-peasy.
“Evie, the full-time rebel, has always hated any obstacle to stop her from where she wants to go. Should have known the stair gate would be no match for her!” Evie’s owner wrote in the caption of the video
They also explained that they had to make some modifications to the obstacle in order to preserve the health of Evie’s joints but that the dog is not particularly happy about it.
“We’ve had to do some adjustments to the gate, now she can’t get up and affect her joints in this delicate puppy stage, BUT SHE IS SO CROSS AT US FOR DOING SO,” Evie’s owner explained.
Still, we wouldn’t be so sure that the adjustments will work. Judging by how Evie solved the original obstacle, we wouldn’t be surprised if she finds a way around the modified version as well.

]]>Carson Springs Wildlife, based in Gainesville, Florida, recently shared a clip of a cheetah named Tuesday and a tortoise named Penzi eating from the same bowl. The two animals looked like they truly enjoyed their mealtime while being careful not to disturb each other.
To make it even more interesting, Tuesday snacked on veggies despite cheetahs being known as carnivores. Apparently, the big cat decided it was time to try a vegetarian diet and actually liked it.
“Tuesday loves to eat Penzi’s diet!!” Carson Springs Wildlife wrote in the caption of the video hinting that this might be a recurring occurrence.
The video received a lot of attention on social media, getting 700K likes and thousands of comments. Instagram users were impressed with the cheetah’s vegetarian diet as well as how the pair gets so well together.
“Wow! Never realized cheetahs can be omnivorous!” one person wrote in the comments section.
“This the coolest thing I’ve seen all year,” another person added.

]]>While some cats may tolerate a quick splash of water or even play with their water bowls, it is unusual for a cat to actually seek out a shower and enjoy being in it. But for Pym, showering is a source of endless entertainment and relaxation.
“Everything you’ve heard about cats not liking water does not apply to Pym. Pym wouldn’t even test the water. She just goes right in,” her mom Katie shares in an interview for The Dodo.
Cats are naturally curious creatures and love to explore new places and things. A shower, with its different sights, sounds, and smells, might be a thrilling and exciting experience for a cat.
“Then I started noticing that that was definitely something that she was purposely looking to do. When I’m gone for a day or two, I wonder if she’s waiting in the shower for me,” she adds.
Katie bought a kiddie pool and an outdoor shower for Pym to try, but the feline wasn’t interested. It seems she enjoys only showering inside with her mom.
“It is definitely our special thing,” she explained.

]]>Recently, horse breeder Mikayla Murphy shared a video on TikTok that captures a puzzling look on her horse Ginger’s face when he spotted a zebra in the stall across from him. Ginger had never seen a zebra before and was obviously unsure what to think about its cousin.
“Ginger is like, ‘I’ve never seen a horse that color before?!?!’ “Murphy wrote in the caption of the video, which received 9.5 million views since being posted back in March.
Murphy later decides to offer Ginger a chance to meet zebra face to face. It turned out that the zebra was quite affectionate towards Ginger, looking to greet him through a fence, but the horse didn’t look to be in the mood to make new friends. Hopefully, Ginger changes his mind at some point and realizes that he and zebra have a lot in common.
“Safe to say the zebra loves Ginger, but Ginger is still a little unsure of the baby zebra,” Murphy shared in the follow-up video.

]]>Preguntale became a huge internet sensation thanks to the “selfies” his owner, Diego Cuadro, frequently posts on social media. The dog can be seen striking cool poses while hanging out with his horse friends, having a picnic, or when he’s simply feeling fabulous and wanting to capture the moment.
Of course, it is Cuadro who takes the snap, but Preguntale is such a good boy when it comes to extending his paw that all of the photos really look like they have been taken by him. To make it all even more impressive, these selfie sessions aren’t even particularly planned out as you might imagine.
“It is very rare that I plan to recreate a scenario. Generally, everything comes to me at the moment, and I do it with him. If I’m in the field, I dress according to what I’m wearing and we recreate everything there. We don’t need to practice, the first one that comes out is the one that is shared,” Curado shared with Argentine media outlet LA NACION.

]]>Aoife was just two weeks old when Sabrina and James de Matteo rescued her, and they always knew that taking care of her wouldn’t be easy. She was paralyzed from the get-go and had to wear diapers because she was unable to use the litterbox due to a long list of health problems, including a mangled pelvis and severe hip dysplasia.
Despite her health problems, her personality shined through, and she immediately won Sabrina’s heart. She had no prior experience with special needs cats, but still decided to welcome Aoife into her home and give her the good life that she deserved.
“It’s a miracle she’d survived that long without help… We put in a lot of work to make sure we were fully capable of taking good care of her. We just fell in love with that little kitten and were willing to do what it took to bring her home with us,” she told the New York Post.
Aoife is now a huge social media sensation with over 60,000 Instagram followers under her belt, and she shares her home with five other cats—Pebbles, Kevin, Sofia, Ellie Mae, and Peter.

]]>The best way to avoid jellyfish altogether is to be in the right place at the right time. Avoid swimming and diving in areas known to have many jellyfish, especially during peak season. You can even check a jellyfish forecast to avoid potential encounters that could turn dangerous.
Even if you get informed about it before heading to the beach, it’s a good idea to stay alert when in areas with occasional jellyfish sightings. Keep an eye out for jellyfish in the water and on the shoreline, and don’t try to touch them or go anywhere near them to avoid the sting. It’s also a good idea to wear a protective suit and footwear while swimming.
Even if you take all the precautions, jellyfish stings can still occur so it’s good to know some first aid basics. Remove any remaining tentacles, rinse the sting with seawater or vinegar, soak the area in warm water for 30 minutes to release the toxins, and consider using painkillers and seeking medical assistance if you’re experiencing a strong reaction.

]]>Bauer was born and raised in the German countryside, and she spent her life surrounded by woods and rivers. She fell in love with nature in her youth and learned a lot about plants in her grandmother’s garden. She also developed an interest in knitting and crocheting during this time and later came up with a way to mix these two passions into one.
Natural elements became the beating heart of her artworks, including twigs, stones, and especially leaves.
“Found leaves are repaired, embellished, and combined using handmade lace crochet… The resulting forms are a meditation on the beauty and intricacy found in the natural world and a reflection of complex and tender relationships both within ourselves and our environment,” she explains on her official website.
She decided to put leaves front and center in her art to remind us that there’s great beauty in things that seem small and insignificant. Her embroidered leaves are also a great symbol of nature’s fragility, while also reminding us of its power to constantly transform and become something we’ve never anticipated.
