Cats use a number of ways to show their affection toward humans. One particularly interesting way is that they bump their heads into us. They spread their pheromones this way while letting us know they feel bonded with us.
TikTok user @shannyn0225 recently shared a video on social media documenting how her baby boy learned head bumps represented affection from the family’s cat and started doing the same.
The baby is shown bumping his head with the cat in several instances, either to greet the feline or simply to show his love.
“My baby has realized the cat shows affection with head bumps, so this is how he greets him,” @shannyn0225 shared in the video adding in caption that she can’t wait to “watch them become best friends.”
The adorable video quickly went viral, getting 2.2 million views in less than a week, while melting the hearts of internet users.
“that is the cutest damn thing!” one TikTok user wrote in the comments section.
“cats and babies being besties is actually my favorite thing,” another added.
@shannyn0225 later shared in the comments that the baby started using the same form of greeting with adults and other kids.
