The afternoon when the band and crew members for Sister Hazel arrived in Ocala, Florida for a concert, one of the crew members heard some noise coming from inside their bus.
When they turned off their vehicle, they realized there were kittens trapped somewhere inside. When they checked the front battery compartment of the bus, they found six wet tiny kittens. They had been stowed away under the bus and traveled all the way from Nashville, Tennessee over the course of two days.
When the band contacted the bus owner, they found out that a stray cat gave birth to the litter of six on the tour bus company’s lot a couple of weeks ago; they assumed the mom had moved her babies.
The crew took the kittens into the bus and wrapped them into a large, soft towel. Melissa Brady, the founder of a local animal rescue was an employee of this venue, so when she saw the kittens, she took the babies and started bottle feeding them.
”The band did everything they could at the time and place, trying to keep them comfortable,” Brady told Love Meow. “I was in the right place at the right time to help them. They have been going full force ever since.”
