There is no challenge that is too difficult for animal rescuers. Most of them will do whatever it takes to help animals in need, and a story shared by animal charity organization Sydney Metropolitan Wildlife Services from Sydney, Australia, is a great example of that.
In a Facebook post, Sydney Metropolitan Wildlife Services (SMWS) shared how they received a call from a kind individual who notified them about a lace monitor with a plastic ring stuck around its neck. SMWS sent out a reptile expert, Kobie Joyce, to the scene to help the lizard.
After arriving to the site, Joyce encountered a small problem; the lace monitor was high up in the trees. But that didn’t discourage Joyce from carrying out his missing. The brave rescuer climbed on the tree, carefully took the lizard in his arms, and carried it to the ground.
Once on the ground, Joyce removed the ring and examined the lace monitor for other injuries. The reptile was found to be well and was released to the wild shortly after.
“Not only does Kobie do amazing things like scaling trees and rescuing all things reptile, Kobie, along with a team of helpers, also spends a lot of his time cleaning up the Northern Beaches waterways of rubbish and debris,” SMWS wrote in the post.
