Cats are really good at hiding but this ability of theirs can give us all sorts of headaches. Every time we can’t find them right away, we get worried sick that something happened to them or that they have wandered off and don’t know their way back home.
Recently, a TikTok user, @mackenzieskates, went through a scare when she thought her beloved cat had gone missing. She spent an hour walking around her apartment complex “sobbing crying,” but the feline was nowhere to be found.
Luckily, it turned out that the cat wasn’t missing at all. She just found a cozy spot in the bathroom cabinet and decided to stay there while being “unbothered” by her owner’s calls.
“I shook treats, opened wet food, shook toys, walked around practically WAILING his name and SILENCE!!!!,” @mackenzieskates wrote in the caption of a TikTok video in which he documented the incident.
The clip ended up getting quite a lot of attention on TikTok and prompted other social media users to share stories about their “missing” cats.
“my cat was missing for 2 days. i was searching my neighborhood night & day.. flyers… he was sleep behind the couch & eating out of the cat food bag when we were asleep….” @tierraahs shared.
“Hyperventilating bc I couldn’t find my black cat for hours. Crying as I placed her food outside thinking it’d help her come home. She was asleep on my son’s black comforter the entire time,” @latkins85 added.
