Purradise Springs is the first and foremost animal sanctuary in Fort White, Florida, that takes care of abandoned cats and felines in need. But it also serves as a glamping site for those who want to spend some relaxing time in nature while hanging out with more than 130 cats.
Denise and Thom Howard founded Purradise Springs in 2019 when their rescue Purrapy Inc. became overcrowded. The Jacksonville-based couple purchased a property in Fort White and decided to use it as a site where rescued cats could roam free and live their best life.
After some time, Denise and Thom started thinking about ways to allow cat lovers to enjoy the company of Purradise Springs residents. They came up with the idea of setting up luxury tents and renting them on Airbnb for glamping purposes.
The idea became a huge hit, with the tents being fully booked most of the time. Guests love the opportunity to explore nature with cats, hang out with them over the fire, and even invite them for a sleepover. If a guest develops a bond with a particular cat, they can also adopt it.
“Want to adopt a cat but prefer a relaxed overnight setting to bond and connect? Stressed out by the cramped and competitive shelter environment? Just want to camp with some cats in a wildly natural setting? Then perhaps a weekend at Purradise Springs is just what you need,” Purradise Springs shares on their website.
