Check Out What Happens When Cats Think They Own a Store

Cats do whatever they please, and nothing is off-limits to them. And the Instagram account Bodega Cats showcases this attitude in the best way possible.

Bodegas are small convenience stores where people can get basic groceries, snacks, and liquor. The owners and staff at these stores are known to be very friendly, so they usually don’t chase off cats that decide to visit their establishment. So, when they notice they are welcome, the cats start acting like they own the place.

Intrigued by this, New York-native Rob Hitt decided to create Bodega Cats on Instagram in order to share some of the “boss cats” with internet users. It didn’t take long for other New Yorkers and people from different cities to reach to him and share similar encounters they had during their grocery trips.

According to Hitt, he receives as many as 100 submissions per week, which show cats sitting on empty shelves, nestling among bags of potato chips, or simply resting near the cash register.
