Earlier this year, Sara Weldon decided to take a walk around her and fiancé Rick’s small farm. The two ended up getting to the part of the property they usually don’t go to and were met with a surprising sight: a baby donkey who was just born.
As Weldon approached to see if everything was okay, she saw that the mother, who gave birth earlier than expected, was stomping on her baby. Weldon reacted quickly, protecting the baby donkey with her body and taking it to her house.
Knowing that the rejected baby donkey will never be able to repair its relationship with its mother, Weldon decided to take that role. She nurtured the baby donkey, fed him, and made sure to get plenty of love.
Soon, the baby donkey, now named Cash, became her trusty companion. Cash got comfortable being in the house while also making friends with other farm animals.
Weldon later wrote a book called Cash’s Miracle: A Tale Of Unconditional Love And Resilience while also sharing Cash’s story in a viral TikTok video.
