Two weeks are nothing when you look at life as a whole, right? Not for the turquoise killifish, though. This species can grow up in only 14 days, and we’re talking from embryo to a fully grown adult fish.
The killifish need to grow up fast if they want to survive. They live in Mozambique and spend most of their lives as embryos. When the rain finally falls and fills the pools for a short time, they need to act quick, grow up, and lay their own legs as fast as possible, before the pool dries up again.
