Meet Bronson, a three-year-old, 33-pound cat, adopted by cat furniture designers Mike Wilson and Megan Hanneman. The owners also have three other cats named: Ickle, Heisenberg, and Gwildor.
According to the shelter, Bronson was surrendered to them after his owner died. The shelter guessed that his owner was elderly or immobile and that he was overfed or fed people food because of his weight.
Bronson’s owners were instantly in love with the chubby cat when they spotted him filling up a huge cat bed. “After meeting him in person and seeing how sweet he was, we quickly realized that he needed to come home with us. We knew it was going to be a lot of work because of his weight but thought about how nice it would be to see his progress along the way,” Wilson added.
They created an Instagram account so people can follow his weight loss journey and inspire other owners who are experiencing the same situation with their pets. Today, Bronson has 195k followers and his weight as of May 2019 is 26 pounds.
He may not be ready to join the other three cats in testing his parents’ furniture up on the wall, but with dedication and perseverance, Bronson will get there someday.
