Since 1986, Farm Sanctuary has been providing tender loving care for farm animals. Animals used for food production are rarely given individual care on factory farms, so the sanctuary decided to initiate a program for the good treatment of farm animals.
“Our shelters have accumulated a wealth of farm animal care information, obtained through research, experience, and hands-on work. We are continually adding to our library of information as our caregivers and veterinarians explore treatment options and discover new care information,” reads their website.
The organization
operates the largest farm animal rescue and adoption network in the US. When
their shelters are full, they ask help from the public who want to share some love
for a suffering animal. Since then, they have rescued more than 3,000 farm
animals.
Farm Sanctuary also offers tours of their shelters in New York and California. The animals love visitors and you will definitely love spending time with them.
“You’ll see animals experiencing joy and freedom for the first time in their lives. At our three shelters, rescued residents are given the care and love they need to recover from abuse and neglect. All of the animals enjoy nourishing food, clean barns, and green pastures each and every day.”
