Dogs can have weird choices when it comes to their napping spots. But sometimes this habit of theirs can have some dire consequences, as a recent viral video shared by TikTok user Haley Nelson shows.
In the clip, a Golden Retriever can be seen peacefully snoozing on the top of the stairs. At one point, the dog wakes up and starts stretching, only to lose its balance and tumble down the stairs. Luckily, the pupper doesn’t seem to be injured as it immediately jumps back on its feet and starts climbing the stairs.
“my poor dog this morning, she’s okay!!!” wrote Nelson in the caption of the clip, which received 15.3 million views since being posted earlier in March.
It remains to be seen if this adorable Golden Retriever learns her lesson after this unfortunate event. However, we are not too optimistic about it, considering that dogs don’t want to give up their favorite spot when they find one.
According to experts, dogs choose to sleep in the most unusual places due to their constant search for comfort, wish to be close to their owner, or simply because of their natural instincts to find a safe spot. However, it could also be a sign of distress or illness, so if you notice you notice something strange, make sure to contact your veterinarian.
