Do you have a turtle but are confused about its gender? Here are a few ways you can tell.
Carefully take your turtle and look at its bottom shell and the tail. Most of the male turtles have a bottom shell that is slightly concave, while on the females it’s slightly convex or flat. Male turtle tails are slightly longer and wider than female’s, but it’s hard to see the difference if you don’t have both male and female turtle on hand for comparison.
Pay attention to the sounds your turtle is making. As some sources claim, male turtles grunt, while females hiss.
