Different cats like different kinds of pets. However, some will take any kind of pets they can get including gentle brushes, strokes, or scratches. As it turns out, the latter can come quite in handy when their human moms and human dads have contrasting petting techniques.
Digital creator Sarah Kobuaritsch recently shared a humorous video on Instagram in which she showcased the differences between “mom pets” and “dad pets” on her adorable Russian blue.
When she is petting the feline, Kobuaritsch uses soft hand motions to brush her on the head, making sure that the cat is enjoying every moment of it. But when Kobuaritsch’s partner is the one doing the petting, it is a completely different approach as he energetically scratches the cat all over her face and neck.
“She will take all the pets. Which one are you?” Kobuaritsch wrote in the caption of the video.
Kobuaritsch’s video ended up quickly spreading across social media, getting more than 10 million views and 285K likes. Instagram users were left in stitches while finding it quite relatable.
“This is accurate, and my husband is STILL the favorite one,“ one person wrote in the comments section.
However, felines usually prefer one way of pets more than the other, according to some users.
“That’s why Dad gets bit and Mom gets snuggles,” another person commented.
