Indian Paper Artists Make Bird Miniatures

A couple of paper artists from India, Vaishali and Nayan, began crafting paper birds a year ago. They started a 365-day challenge in 2018 when they promised to make one bird every day for a full year.

“The concept of this miniatures is to express the intricacy and vibrancy of the birds around us,” Vaishali shares. “We used the technique of layered paper cutting to give volume to the artworks and get a three-dimensional feel to them. All the artworks are entirely hand cut and hand painted and are made without using any kind of magnifying tools.”
