Michaël Cailloux’s incredible attention to detail transformed his drawings into a true sensation, and most of them are a love letter to Mother Nature. He finds inspiration all around him, but insects hold a special place in his heart and often take center stage in his work.
Cailloux is a visionary artist from Paris, whose refined body of work has been growing for years. He’s been passionate about art since his childhood years, when he used to spend countless hours sketching and doodling, and eventually decided to attend the prestigious École Duperré School of Design in Paris.
He went on to start his own brand Atelier LZC and experimented with many different creative fields, but drawing remained his main focus.
“Michaël Cailloux’s work is inspired by nature and colors. He draws his inspiration from 17th-century still life and art nouveau naturalism and his body of work has been described as ‘modern baroque” by Télérama,” reads the artist’s official website.
Cailloux’s drawings often pay homage to the natural world, and insects are one of his favorite subjects. The fly even became his signature, and he was drawn to it because it was used as a symbol of both life and death in still-life paintings of the 17th century.
