Izzy’s Beach Art is a Love Letter to Ocean’s Endless Beauty

The beaches of Cornwall are a sight to behold, and we’ve seen many artists on Instagram celebrate their awe-inspiring beauty. Gemma Quinney of Izzy’s Beach Art is one of them, and her coastal art will make you fall in love with the ocean all over again.

Quinney is a coastal artist based in Falmouth, a charming town located on the south coast of Cornwall. She used to spend a lot of her free time searching the beaches of Cornwall for tiny treasures, and she eventually decided to put her findings to some good use.

Instead of just letting the Cornish sea glass, sea pottery, shells, and driftwood she handpicked along the coast gather dust, she decided to transform them into works of art. Her creations are a love letter to the sea, and they celebrate its tiniest specks that often go unnoticed.

Quinney is honoring Cornwall’s coast through beautifully arranged coastal artwork, often taking the shape of circles, hearts, and her signature coastal wreaths. She also enjoys thinking outside of the box and arranging her coastal treasures into other motifs inspired by nature, including flowers, trees, and birds, perching on tiny pebbles and driftwood, as a way of creating an illusion they’re still in their natural habitat.
