Japanese Artist Creates Incredible Animal Sculptures Using Balloons

Japanese artist Masayoshi Matsumoto creates animal sculptures from balloons that are so lifelike, you’ll want to adopt one of them as a pet.

The self-taught artist is using balloons of different shapes and colors to bring animals to life. Some of the many creatures he designs include: caterpillars, monkeys, octopuses, and flamingos.

“I started making these seven years ago, I was really inspired by wildlife pictures and wanted to see if I could create realistic animals of my own,” Matsumoto shared in an interview with Metro.

Each of these intricate pieces is not easy to make, and the artist needs at least two hours for simple projects and around six hours to complete more complex pieces. What’s even more amazing is that Matsumoto doesn’t use glue, seals, markers or any other additional materials.
