Kara Baldus is Connecting with Her Rescue Dog Through the Power of Music

Kara Baldus has a pretty impressive resume as a jazz pianist, but her Instagram page is followed by over 100,000 people for a completely different reason. She became a true social media sensation once she started playing music for her rescue dog Bradford.

Kara Baldus (née. Mehrmann) started performing across the United States and all around the world when she was 18, and she now works as a full-time jazz piano teacher at Washington University in St. Louis. She’s also a member of several bands, including Dropkick the Robot and The LustreLights, in addition to performing with Sisters in Jazz in her early career.

Despite her extensive experience in the world of music, Baldus’s rescue dog Bradford seems to be her favorite bandmate. He’s been the biggest fan of her music ever since she welcomed him into his home, and he can’t resist sitting by her side every time she approaches the piano.

Bradford has a front-row seat to Baldus’ performances – and so does the rest of the world. Several of her videos that show Bradford enjoying her music attracted millions of views on Instagram, and they show her playing everything from her original compositions to beloved classics and popular television themes.
