Animals love to find shelter in the most unusual places, so it isn’t surprising to see them nestle beneath or somewhere in your car. This is why it is crucial to check out your vehicle anytime you are set to hit the road; that inspection could mean a difference between life and death for an animal. A recent story from Ohio is a perfect example.
An unnamed truck driver was preparing to get back on the road on the Ohio Turnpike and decided to conduct a pre-trip inspection. To his surprise, there was an adorable little kitten stuck between the wheels of his semi-truck.
Worried that the kitten might get hurt if he attempts to rescue himself, the driver called Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP)for assistance. The officers came to the scene in no time and helped the driver unscrew the tires and free the feline.
The kitten was handed over to the local animal charity Portage Animal Protection League for further medical examination. The OHSP later shared a video of the rescue mission on their official social media channels.
“Watch this meow-velous rescue of a kitten stuck in a semi’s wheel well. This seemingly im-paw-sible rescue mission had a happy ending…thanks to the purrfect teamwork by all on scene!” OHSP wrote in the caption of the video.
