Brazilian artist Laura Dalla Vecchia sees the beauty everywhere around her, and she’s using a pretty unusual canvas to bring it to life. She made a name for herself as a successful embroidery artist, who stitched amazing bird designs directly onto dried leaves.
Vecchia is the mastermind behind Leveza Art, and her art is inspired by her enchantment with nature. Vecchia’s artisan mother inspired her to fall in love with art at a young age, and she was still a biology student when she decided to pursue one specific subject that was very close to her heart.
Vecchia is on a quest to translate the beauty of Brazilian birds through her embroidery. Her body of work showcases a variety of different bird species native to her home country of Brazil, and she’s using her platform to raise awareness about endangered species, in addition to capturing their beauty.
The most impressive thing about Vecchia’s art is that she uses dried leaves as a canvas to capture nature’s fragility. She even enjoys incorporating tiny branches in some of her embroideries, giving the birds a place to perch. Her attention to detail is always on point, and she has a special talent for capturing the intricate patterns and vivid colors of the avian world.
