Worcester Public Library in Worcester, Massachusetts, recently came up with a purrfect way to help their users pay off their library fees. All they need to do is show a picture of a cat.
As part of the March Meowness campaign, Worcester Public Library will forgive all the library fees associated with a user if they bring in a picture of a cat or send one through email. And it doesn’t have to be their cat; the library accepts cat drawings and photos of famous cats, stray cats, and any other cat they have in your gallery.
Additionally, pictures of “honorary cats” are also welcome.
“We will accept honorary cats as well, so you may show us a picture or drawing of a dog, raccoon, orca, capybara, or any other animal,” says Worcester Public Library on their official website.
Worcester Public Library doesn’t charge fees to users who are late to return their books. Instead, it charges fees for books that have been damaged in some way or lost.
March Meowness campaign also includes all sorts of other cat-related activities, including de-stress sessions with cats from the local shelter, DIY craft lessons for cat-themed toys and jewelry, and a screening of the movie Cats.
