Chanel is a miniature horse who was born with dwarfism. When she came into the world, her former owner didn’t know what to do with her and that’s when her now-owner decided to take her in.
“The first time I saw her, it was, like surreal. She’s so small, you know. You’re like searching for a battery pack somewhere,” Chanel’s human dad shared on The Dodo. “Her legs did not look good. We started literally day on with the legs and the feet, getting those back on track.”
Chanel was doing long walks to make her legs stronger and even Huckleberry, the dog was really helpful, guiding her and keeping her going. The two got so close that Chanel thinks she is a Labrador. She also likes staying in the house and refuses to live in the barn.
“She’ll walk under the fence and she goes right to the back door. She sneaks inside and we don’t know she’s here. If she goes behind the ottoman and lays down, we can’t see her. So she’ll be in the house 4 or 5 hours and we won’t even know,” her owner added.
