When a family rescued a squirrel after it fell from the nest during a hurricane, they never expected that the furry animal would become a permanent member of the family. And they never imagined the Instagram account they created for their adorable pet would now become one of the most popular pet Instagram to date.

Jill the squirrel is probably the most famous pet squirrel on the internet today. She was rescued in 2012, during Hurricane Isaac, which tore through Louisiana. The cute squirrel reportedly had fallen out of her nest during the typhoon, so the family took her into their home temporarily. But Jill ended up staying and now, she’s pretty comfortable and well loved by the family.
