Rae is a Golden Retriever whose ear accidentally got torn off at birth. She was immediately taken to Family Friends Veterinary Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she got surgery right away. As she grew older, her ear migrated to the top of her head. Rea, which is “ear” spelled backward now looks like an adorable unicorn.
“The minute I saw her, I knew I wanted to raise her and be there for her even though I knew the road to recovery wouldn’t always be easy,” her now-mom Brianna Aardema who works at the Veterinary Hospital told Good Morning America and added that her injury was just a “crazy accident,” and not a condition.
Now Rae is living a happy life with her family and has many furry friends in daycare. She also became an Instagram star with more than 195,000 followers.
