Smush is an adorable cappuccino cat that had a very difficult beginning. She was found lying on the side of the road, pretty much near death. However, a vet student named Lindsey took her home and syringe-fed her every four hours.
“My wife, Sarah, and I both were following her on Lindsey’s personal page,” Smush’s mom shared with The Dodo. “And I saw the picture of Smush, and I’m like ’Oh my God! Who is this tiny, little thing?’”
At the time, the kitty was very sick. She wouldn’t eat on her own and she had ringworm. Smush was also suffering from an upper respiratory infection and she had some congenital deformities.
“I think she’s just got that spirit about her – that is strong,” the owner added. “This kitten was not going to die. I sent Sarah a text when she was at work. I’m like, ’Do you want this for your birthday?’. She said ’Oh my God!’”
Nowadays, Smush is living a happy life and is a true Instagram star; she has a following of more than 453 thousand followers.
