Nearly 100 Cats Co-Exist On This Greek Island Peacefully

Not long ago, there was an ad showcasing a woman who was looking for someone who would live on a Greek island for free and take care of over 55 cats. Well, it turns out the ad was not a scam, it was real.

Located on the Greek island of Syros, there’s a place called God’s Little People Cat Rescue, and it’s a piece of heaven for felines. This no-kill, no-cage sanctuary and adoption center gives home to more than 65 rescue cats.

They help sick and injured cats to recover, take orphaned kittens under their wing, feed stray cats, and participate in a TNR (Trap, Neuter, and Return) program. The sanctuary is privately founded by Joan Bowell and her husband, Richard, but also receives donations from people around the world.

“All the cats are neutered, and all cats receive a portion of good quality food, freshwater, shelter, and medical attention whenever needed. We work in close association with Syros Vets, the vets of the island,” they wrote on their Facebook page.

They also added that they do their best to get as many cats adopted but offer a lifetime sanctuary to unadoptable cats as well.
