Having trouble coming up with a name for your dog? Well, in that case, you might want to check out the names people gave their dogs some 700 years ago. They are quite funny but might also be helpful and inspire you to come up with a perfect name.
TikTok content creator Lexi Natoli @/yolkfather recently shared a video in which she talked about a 15th-century book that contained over 1,000 names that were considered suitable for dogs. She listed some of her favorite names including Garlik, Synfull, Mustarde, Bryan, Nise, Noty, Filthe, and Arguement, while also sharing illustrations of dogs from the same period.
Natoli’s video ended up getting a lot of attention on TikTok, being viewed 1.7 million times. Other TikTok users shared their opinions on the names in the comments, with a lot of them trying to link some of the names with dog breeds.
“Arguement. Someone had a husky,” one user wrote in the comments section.
“Synfull is definitely a dachshund,” another added.
After her first video went viral, Natoli shared a follow-up clip in which she shared more dog names from the medieval period. The list included Pretiboy, Badde, Harmeles, Thrifti, and Thought.
