Phoenix is a passionate reptile keeper who goes by Phoenixotics on Instagram, where she has a pretty impressive following. She’s been passionate about exotic snakes for quite some time, and once her collection started growing, she decided to start an Instagram page, inviting us inside her reptile garden.
Unlike most snake keepers on Instagram, Phoenix is only raising them as pets and for her own pleasure. Her collection isn’t gigantic, and she’s focusing on providing the best care possible for her serpents: jungle boa Fox, Brazilian rainbow boa Ariel, and Honduran milk snake Candy Cane.
She’s doing all of these while dealing with a chronic illness, and her snake babies are an important source of comfort during her difficult times.
“I like to make the most of my ‘good days’ when I feel well enough to interact with my snakes. Chronic illness and pain truly sucks when it takes away from spending time with what you love,” she wrote on Instagram.
