Rare White, Giant Panda Photographed in the Wild For the First Time

A rare, all-white, albino panda has been photographed in the Chinese natural reserve in the Sichuan province and the photo was published on Twitter by People’s Daily, China.

According to Li Sheng from the Species Survival Commission, this is the first recorded image of a fully white wild giant panda.

“I personally think it’s quite random for it to be discovered since albinism manifests itself so infrequently,” Dr. Li told Telegraph in a phone interview. “This was recorded just in time.”

“Based on the photo, albinism has not affected the life of the white panda much,” Dr. Li said. “It looks quite well, quite strong.”
