The volunteers at The Animal Foundation in Las Vegas were overjoyed after finding a home for a four-year-old dog Duke, but he didn’t stay there for too long. The black Labrador retriever is looking for a new home after his previous family brought him back to the shelter for being “too boring”.
The Animal Foundation is the largest single-site animal shelter in America, and they helped many animals find loving homes in Las Vegas. They tried to do the same for the four-year-old Labrador named Duke, but things took an unexpected turn when he was adopted, only to be returned to the shelter.
The family that adopted him reportedly complained about Duke being boring, sleeping all day, and not getting up to greet them when they get home, so he’s now looking for a new home.
“Duke is looking for a new home because his constant napping and apparent lack of enthusiasm made him the wrong fit for his last family. And that’s okay. We’re confident that there’s plenty of people who would vibe with 4-year-old Duke’s lack of energy,” reads The Animal Foundation’s statement on social media.
Duke has been placed with a foster family after being returned to the shelter, and he’s now looking for a permanent residency – ideally with owners who don’t expect him to be the life of the party.
