We love cats for their curiosity, but sometimes that can prove to be really bad for them, as a recent dramatic video shared by animal control officer Rudy Pina from Fresno Animal Center shows.
The clip documents Pina’s rescue mission of a kitten who was exploring a hole on the freeway and ended up being stuck there.
A group of people was passing beneath the 60-foot freeway bridge in Fresno, California, when they looked above and noticed something strange. There was a tiny black kitten stuck in a hole on the side of the bridge and begging for help.
The group contacted Fresno Animal Center for help, and Pina quickly arrived at the spot. After calling for a traffic break, the rescuer managed to get to the kitten but had to proceed carefully in order to avoid startling it and perhaps causing it to jump.
Pina opted for a daring tactic to climb on the outer side of the bridge and grab the kitten from there. Fortunately, the mission was successful, with Pina getting ovations from passersby, who watched the whole thing unfold.
After safely placing the kitten in a crate, Pina took her to the Fresno Animal Center for a medical checkup. Now, the kitten is safe and healthy and is currently looking for a new home.
