Beautiful creatures are everywhere around us if you’re ready to look closely enough, and insects definitely fall under that category. If you’re yet to discover their magnificent glory, folk artist Sarah Kiser will help you see them in a whole new light.
Kiser has always been a creative soul and enjoyed expressing herself artistically, but decided to pursue creative writing instead of art in college. She felt it was a safer career choice, but life eventually took her in a different direction, and she now runs a successful Etsy store and an Instagram page with almost 130,000 followers.
Before becoming an artist, Kiser spent six years working at an organic farm in Tallahassee, enjoying the sunshine, wildlife, and wildflowers, and this experience significantly influenced her artistic journey.
“When I started having children and left my job to care for them, I found that I missed the productive peacefulness of working out in nature, so I decided to bring nature back into my life through my illustrations, and I was able to reclaim a bit of me in the process,” she wrote on her Etsy page.
Kiser enjoys capturing all sorts of wild animals in her signature magical artistic style, but she’s also a huge fan of insects and has a soft spot for moths and butterflies.
