Self-Taught Artist Makes Horse Sculptures That are Shockingly Good

Do you know when humans began domesticating horses? Believe it or not, it started around 4000 BC.

Connie Adams from Norfolk is a gifted artist who creates remarkable sculptures using galvanized metal wire and scrap. She focuses mainly on real-life horse sculptures that could easily hold a human being. However, in her portfolio, you can find other kinds of artwork as well.

Adams reveals that she taught herself how to recreate natural forms through wire and scrap. Inspired by famous sculptors, like Robin Wight, she wanted to find a medium with whom she could easily manipulate and “create personalities within pieces”.

“By building up around the initial ‘skeleton’ of the project, I begin establishing muscles, movement, and a sense of character,” the artist wrote on her website.

She later added that breeds such as McMorland, Welbeck, Arabian, and the Trojan horse are her main inspirations.

She shares some of her artwork on her Instagram account, where she has attracted over 2,000 followers. Scrolling through her profile, you’ll notice how much this artist loves making horse masterpieces and that the similarities are unbelievable.
