Senior Shelter Cat Polly Defied All Odds to Find Home

Most senior cats struggle to find a home after a few years at the shelter, but Polly never gave up. Her prayers had finally been answered when her new owner Sarah walked through the door and decided to take Polly home and give her a second chance.

The 15-year-old Polly was dealing with a long list of health problems before Sarah came along, and many people at the shelter had already written her off. In addition to suffering from an autoimmune condition, Polly is also deaf and very matted, but that didn’t stop her future owner from seeing the beauty in her.

Sarah saw something special in Polly when she went to The Patricia Ladew Foundation, and her age wasn’t an issue.

“Once I met her, she fit the criteria of what I was looking for… The first time I met her when I had to leave, she stared at me through the door and I just felt this connection with her and knew she was meant to be with me,” she told Bored Panda.

Sarah eventually decided to adopt Polly because she could imagine her growing old in her quiet, cozy apartment. The elderly cat exceeded her wildest expectations and quickly adapted to life at her new home, where she’s been living for the past three years.
