One dog owner named Katie recently discovered that her smart Australian Shepherd named Bailey has an unusual habit. Bailey will occasionally treat himself to cheese slices when he thinks no one is looking.
In a viral video shared on TikTok, Katie explained that Bailey is a service dog who is trained to get her water. He was taught to open the fridge as part of his training and, somewhere along the way, figured he could take other things besides water.
Katie managed to bust Bailey after finding cheese slice wrappers around his kennel. But when confronted, the dog simply pretended to be clueless. But little did he know that there was a security camera recording his cheese heists.
At one point in the clip, Bailey is shown opening the fridge, taking the cheese slice, and carrying it to its kennel. He then returns to close the fridge and even thinks about getting another slice before giving up.
Katie witnessed the entire thing and rushed to the living room to see that Bailey already removed the wrapper and was about to eat the cheese. As you might guess, Katie wasn’t mad about Bailey but rather impressed.
“Word of advice- do not teach your incredibly smart Aussie how to open the fridge,” Katie wrote in the caption of the video.
