There is a Snail that Can Grow Its Eye Back After Amputation

Snails are funny little creatures. They are so slow they are used as a metaphor for slowness! The species is versatile – one type of snails can grow up to a foot and a half long. But today we wanted to share a fact that really amazed us.

There’s a type of snails called Mystery snails (Family Ampullariidae) that are able to grow back the eye completely after it’s been amputated.

Eyes that look complete from the scientist’s perspective have developed in only 25 days after the amputation. They look a bit smaller than the original. Crazy, right?
